Since 1951, the Clairefontaine brand has been the absolute reference in upscale notebooks and loose sheets, thanks to its unique velvety vellum paper.. Each year, there is a communication drive with a general campaign during the critical back-to-school period that enables the group to maintain a unique awareness rate of 100% with each generation. This range is completed with the range of school notebooks manufactured close to Mulhouse under the Calligraphe brand and other private labels.
Launched nearly 20 years ago, Clairefontaine’s drawing, fine arts and creative hobby range draws on paper specially manufactured by Schut and has become a reference just like the Pollen range of envelopes and coloured cards.
Other brands have joined the department to boost its development: Rhodia (famous for its orange notepads and office items), Décopatch (personalisation and decoration of objects with the creative paper), Avenue Mandarine (educational games and toys) and Maildor (specialist in educational stickers, decoration and other school items). Gift wraps, creative and decoration papers (crepe, silk, etc.) like many stationery items and office accessories (blotters, boxes, pencil cases, boxed sets, mugs, etc.) are converted in-house. Clairefontaine-Rhodia has a catalogue of 8,500 products for schools, offices, artists and teachers. The fine stationery department is able to provide next-day delivery for 80% of its orders in France, thanks to an ultramodern logistics platform in Alsace. This has pushed it to a leading position on several markets in Europe.
