Heirs to a paper-making tradition that dates back to 1512, the Papeteries de Clairefontaine, founded in 1858 in Etival Clairefontaine in the Vosges mountains, stretch along the Meurthe river on a 40-hectare site. The plant’s equipment includes two paper machines 3.40 m wide that produce at 600 and 1,000 m/min, as well as a department dedicated to the production of paper items. They have an annual production capacity of 165,000 tonnes of FSC or PEFC certified paper.
The paper mill produces its paper from carefully selected pulp to obtain optimum paper quality for: • Writing. Clairefontain's 90g/m2 smooth vellum paper used for loosed leaves and notebooks was the first to establish the reputation of all the other papers manufactured since then. The paper used for envelopes are soft and opaque in luminous light or coloured tones. • Office items. Specific products to enhance each process. CLAIRALFA, DCP and TROPHEE reams are the natural choice for laser printing or photocopying. • Printing. A large range of papers for offset and professional digital printing makes it possible to obtain high-quality printing results.
